About the Role
Epic Built is seeking a full-time Drafter to support our in-house architectural department for residential and select commercial projects. This role focuses primarily on drafting, modeling, and documentation under the direction of the Architect. The Drafter will play a key role in accelerating design timelines, improving drawing consistency, and supporting a more efficient design-build workflow. This position reports directly to the Lead Architect and works closely with internal design, pre-construction, and construction teams.
Responsibilities
- Translate architectural design concepts into technical drawings, including:
- Floor plans
- Elevations
- Building sections
- Construction details
- Assist with layout and organization of construction document sets for review and permitting.
- Produce 3D models and rendered elements as needed.
- Prepare presentation documents to support internal reviews and client meetings.
- Quickly sketch and model design concepts and alternatives.
- Efficiently draft multiple design options when requested.
- Apply critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills to develop creative, buildable design outcomes.
- Demonstrate an understanding of building construction, drafting tools, and building techniques.
- Maintain a general understanding of comprehensive construction documentation and required drawing standards.
- Build and maintain Epic Built drafting standards and Revit library.
- Adhere to Epic Built Standard Operating Procedures and quality control requirements.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and internally consistent.
- Track design revisions, redlines, and decisions and implement changes correctly.
- Review drawing sets for clarity and completeness prior to internal review.
- Support the architectural team in maintaining a high-quality client experience.
- Participate in initial client meetings when requested (typically in person), including:
- Taking meeting notes
- Tracking design changes
- Implementing approved revisions into drawings
- Help ensure clients never feel they have “fallen through the cracks” during design.
- Work closely with:
- Architect and architectural team
- Interior designers
- Pre-construction and construction teams
- Collaborate early to identify and resolve design or constructability issues.
- Support design decisions that align with client budget and project goals.
- Assist with preparation of clear documentation that reduces downstream rework.
- Maintain general awareness of applicable building codes and requirements.
- Flag potential code-related issues for review by the Architect.
- Assist the Architect with permit-ready drawing sets and submittal preparation.
- Support pre-submittal coordination as directed.
- Contribute positively to Epic Built’s internal team culture.
- Participate in:

- Work collaboratively to help create a seamless connection between design and build.

Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional Revit experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of AutoCAD experience (for collaboration and legacy projects).
- Proficient with general office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
