About the Role
An Architectural Designer II is responsible for the design and production of architectural construction documents under the supervision of a Project Architect, Technical Manager, or Senior Project Coordinator. This includes design, setup, and coordination of documents based on standard architectural practices and applicable codes.
Responsibilities
- Run projects with minimal oversight.
- Design and produce construction documents and specifications.
- Complete designated scope of work within the allotted time budget.
- Delegate, review, manage, and accept responsibility for the work of Architectural Technicians, College Interns, and Architectural Designer I team members.
- Manage, with minimal assistance, the permitting process, including responding to comments for architecture and consultants.
- Assist in providing Construction Administration Services and resolve technical issues or questions.
- Maintain CP standards and quality control throughout the project.
- Research and apply applicable codes, interacting with code enforcement agencies as needed.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, including running kickoff meetings.
- Receive and assimilate project information from the Project Manager and/or client.
- Work with the team to provide an appropriate level of customer service.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in an architectural firm or field.
- Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and/or REVIT.
- Advanced understanding of architecture, building construction, and building codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
