Introduction
SV Design is looking for a personable, motivated, and organized individual to join our Chatham residential team. As an architectural designer, you will be working primarily on mid to large-sized high-end residential projects. You will be the draftsperson for your projects and responsible for quality, coordination (in-house and externally), and schedule.
What you'll do
- Uphold SV Design's standards of professionalism, creativity, and design excellence across all project work
- Develop design layouts and features through research, documentation, and coordination with project teams
- Conduct field measurements and documentation to draft and review existing building conditions
- Contribute to schematic design through both hand drafting and computer-generated renderings
- Create detailed CAD drawings or Revit models based on existing building dimensions and design sketches
- Incorporate redline revisions accurately across all project phases
- Assist project managers with material sourcing, scheduling, errands, and preparation of presentation boards
- Produce design development drawings in coordination with architects to ensure alignment with design intent
- Support the progression of projects through design development and construction documentation phases
- Review construction drawings and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards
What you'll have
- This is an in-office position based in our Chatham, MA location; candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance
- Professional degree in Architecture from a U.S.-accredited program (or equivalent)
- 0-6 years of professional architectural experience, ideally with a focus on residential projects
- Strong ability to communicate design ideas through sketches and visual concepts
- Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office required
- Collaborative team player who values open communication and diverse perspectives
- Ability to take direction from senior staff and contribute to a supportive team environment
- Highly detail-oriented with strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently across multiple tasks
