Architectural Designer I

About the role

VIP Architectural Associates is seeking an Architectural Designer I to join their collaborative team. The role involves contributing to meaningful projects, working alongside experienced professionals, and gaining hands-on experience from concept development to construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provides architectural drafting including details, plans, sections, and elevations in accordance with firm standards and guidelines.
• Collaborates with consultants on design work and reviews completed reports, plans, and calculations.
• Conducts research and assesses the impact of building codes and other regulations.
• Prepares PDFs of drawings for review and issuance at established project milestones.
• Recognizes, analyzes, and makes timely, critical, and cost-effective decisions.
• Participates in sustainable design discussions and implements sustainable strategies within project work and firm operations.
• Coordinates and communicates deadlines and other important project-related information with team members.
• Encourages collaboration and teamwork; works well with others.
• Represents the firm and markets its capabilities.
• Responds to client questions and concerns in a timely and thorough manner.
• Understands budgeted time constraints of jobs assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in production design.
• Degree in Architecture or related field.
• Proficiency in REVIT and experience in AutoCAD is a plus.
