About the role

STV is an international multidiscipline engineering/architectural consulting and construction management company performing over $300 million in annual revenue. Our award-winning portfolio within the Buildings Division includes engineering and architectural assignments within the Federal, Educational, Institutional, Justice, and Environmental market sectors. STV currently seeks an Architectural Designer out of our Owings Mills, MD and Washington DC office for our Buildings division.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare architectural drawings, utilize a strong knowledge of building technology; and/or supervise their execution for all phases of a project.
  • Execute code analysis, material selections, and coordinate with specifications writer.
  • Conduct site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, and prepare design reports.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage, and assist the work of lower-level architects who assist with projects.
  • Develop design details, plans, and specifications.
  • Contribute new designs, or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
  • Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
  • Determine collectively with project management, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.
  • Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.

Requirements

  • A professional degree in Architecture and possess 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with BIM 360 / Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • AutoCAD, Enscape, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite experience are a plus.
  • Excellent design capabilities and strong verbal and visual communication skills, along with a strong capacity for generating technical details that are constructible.
  • Progress towards Architectural licensure is very desirable.

Qualifications

Professional Degree in Architecture and possess 3-5 years of relevant experience. Progress towards Architectural licensure is very desirable.
