Duties And Responsibilities
- Create innovative and functional shade structures, such as shade sails, pergolas, pavilions, canopies, and tensioned fabric structures, with a focus on aesthetics, safety, and sustainability.
- Vet projects during the presale process by reviewing client requirements, site conditions, and budget constraints to determine project feasibility, potential challenges, and design optimization.
- Work closely with architects, landscape architects, project managers, and contractors to integrate shade systems into overall site designs while ensuring compatibility with the environment and other architectural elements.
- Conduct structural analysis and use appropriate engineering techniques to ensure the shade structures are safe, stable, and able to withstand environmental factors such as wind, snow, and UV exposure.
- Evaluate and recommend materials, including fabrics, metal, and tensioning systems, that provide durability, weather resistance, and sustainability for shade applications.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant local building codes, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Consider aspects such as UV protection, energy efficiency, and environmental impact in designs.
- Oversee the implementation of shade structure projects, ensuring that design concepts are executed properly, and handle any on-site adjustments as needed.
- Communicate directly with clients to understand their vision, provide technical advice, and ensure satisfaction with the final product.
