What You Will Do
- Contribute to architectural deliverables on projects, working with Design Director(s) and project team(s) for all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production
- Serve as a member of the design team, collaborating with clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
- Contribute to resolution of complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions
- Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings
- Aid in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs
- Cultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- 10-15 years of relevant architecture and design experience within a commercial design firm
- Ideal candidate will have experience with multiple building facade and envelope typologies of varying scale, including commercial office and mixed-use buildings, sports and entertainment venues, workplace interiors and repositioning projects
- Must be proficient in Revit and the Adobe Suite. Proficiency with Rhino, Grasshopper, Parametric Modeling, Sketch-up, 3D Studio Max and VRay is a plus
- Knowledge of materials, construction techniques and building codes and the design process
- Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking skills and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
- A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Initiative that brings curiosity, enthusiasm and a “can do” attitude
- Organization, communication, and relationship building skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed / Registered Architect (If you are in the process of taking exams, feel free to contact stephanie_contratto@gensler.com to discuss a similar role)
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
