Architectural Designer

About the role

Take on a pivotal role in supporting Pre-Construction Specialists and Regional Pre-Construction Project Managers for prototype and remodel projects. Leverage your drafting and design expertise to ensure precision and alignment with project goals, contributing to innovative and impactful store development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Site Plans and coordinate with the Merchandising team on fixture layouts to ensure the plans meet the intent of the “approved” site or fixture plans prior to the Pre-Construction Review Meeting.
• Aid the Pre-Construction Specialist in obtaining all municipal and governing agency approvals, ensuring code compliance with all required authorities.
• Produce all architectural required drawings, assist the Pre-Construction Specialist with the management of the various consulting engineers (Structural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.), and ensure AutoZone standards are maintained prior to submittal to the various municipal approving agencies.
• Coverage of dry utility companies to ensure our electrical, telephone, and natural gas services reflect the utility companies' design intent.
• Complete Design Exchange bid packages and ensure that the engineered construction drawings and bid documents are accurate and provided to the Construction department.
• Ensure any drawings which have been modified, as a result of issues encountered during construction, are issued to the Construction team as a Revision.
• Archive all the latest drawings and documents properly per AutoZone standards after the store opens.
• Assist the Regional Pre-Construction Manager in managing and controlling costs of the annual Pre-Construction budget throughout the fiscal year.
• Provide proper specifications and documentation to the Support team for any non-standard AFI items as required.

Requirements

• Associates degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of AutoCAD experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with time management skills
• Ability to think critically and make decisions while being a positive, effective team player
