Architectural Designer
About the role
Nolan Bell Design Studio is seeking an Architectural Designer with 4–7 years of professional experience to join our small, highly collaborative studio. The position offers opportunities to work on high-end custom residential, boutique hospitality, and thoughtfully designed commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Moving fluidly between conceptual design, material exploration, detailing, and construction documentation
- Contributing to and preparing comprehensive construction document sets, with an understanding of consultant coordination and detailing
- Understanding building assemblies, detailing, and construction methods
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Having a self-directed approach, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail
- Collaborating with principals from initial concepts through construction administration
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture
- 4–7 years of professional experience, including experience on high-end custom residential, boutique hospitality, or thoughtfully designed commercial projects
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- A strong foundation in architectural design, detailing, documentation, building materials, building codes, and construction technologies
- A thoughtful design, technical rigor, and exceptional graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of building assemblies, detailing, and construction methods
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and genuine curiosity about architecture, interiors, materials, and construction
Portfolio Requirements
Your portfolio should demonstrate both design thinking and technical proficiency. Please include examples of conceptual design work, built projects, construction details, and completed drawing sets that clearly illustrate your role in the design and execution of each project.
