Architectural Designer / Architect (3-5 Years Experience)

About the role

Andrew Magnes Architecture is a growing architecture and interiors practice based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, led by architects Andrew Magnes and Christopher Boskey. Our work focuses primarily on thoughtfully crafted residential projects, ranging from apartment renovations and townhouses to ground-up homes, with a strong emphasis on materials, light, spatial quality, and detailing.

Responsibilities

• Thoughtful, curious, and detail-oriented approach to residential design and construction
• Understanding of building assembly and construction methods
• Producing and coordinating drawing sets for NYC Department of Buildings submissions
• Assisting with project management and consultant coordination
• Working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced studio environment

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in custom residential architecture
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Rhino
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• A keen eye for color, composition, materials, light, spatial quality, and form
• Reside in the New York metropolitan area and be willing to commute to the Red Hook, Brooklyn office

• Strong interest in detailing, materials, construction methods, and craftsmanship
