Architectural Coordinator / Project Architect
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Coordinator / Project Architect to support ongoing construction projects in Douglasville, Georgia.
This role is not focused on design from scratch, but on modifying existing drawings, coordinating with consultants, and supporting execution during construction.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between design intent and on-site execution, ensuring drawings are updated, issues are resolved quickly, and construction progresses smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Drawing Modifications & Documentation
- Review and update existing architectural drawings (AutoCAD/Revit)
- Incorporate site-driven changes, field conditions, and design revisions
- Prepare revised drawings, details, and as-built documentation
- Maintain version control of all drawings and documents
- Construction Coordination
- Act as a liaison between:
- Architects of record
- Engineers (MEP, structural, civil)
- General contractor & subcontractors
- Respond to RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Review and coordinate shop drawings and submittals
- Site Support
- Visit project sites regularly to:
- Verify field conditions
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and execution
- Support resolution of on-site issues
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure design intent is maintained
- Permitting & Compliance Support
- Aid in updating drawings for permit revisions (if required)
- Ensure changes remain compliant with:
- Georgia building codes
- Local Douglas County regulations
- Project Tracking
- Track design changes, revisions, and approvals
- Maintain coordination logs and documentation
- Support project timelines by ensuring quick turnaround on drawing updates
- Required
- Degree or diploma in Architecture or related field
- 3–8+ years of experience in:
- Architectural drafting
- Construction documentation
- Project coordination
- Strong proficiency in:
- AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Revit (mandatory)
- Experience working with:
- Construction teams or design-build environments
- PREFERRED
- Experience in:
- Commercial / hospitality / wellness projects
- Familiarity with:
- RFI, submittals, shop drawings
- Field coordination
- Structural and MEP coordination
- Strong attention to detail
- Fast turnaround on revisions
- Excellent coordination and communication skills
- Practical understanding of construction workflows
- Problem-solving mindset in real-time site conditions
