Role Description

Conduct field surveys and existing conditions assessments
Prepare measured drawings using applicable drafting software
Assist in the preparation of specifications and product research
Perform archival research and documentation
Participate in Construction Administration activities, including site visits, submittal reviews, and sample reviews
Coordinate with Architectural Division on renovation, new construction, and adaptive-use projects

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architectural Conservation, Historic Preservation, or a related field preferred (Bachelor's degree considered)
  • or Professional degree in Architecture (M.Arch or B.Arch) with conservation coursework, concentration, or relevant restoration/conservation experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an architectural firm setting or comparable contracting experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with building condition assessment, field documentation, and measured drawing/ detail production
  • Working understanding of building material properties, traditional construction assemblies, failure modes, and intervention/remedial repair options
  • Proactive approach to problem solving & teamwork in a collegial work environment
  • Comfortable working at elevated locations, including scaffolding, ladders, and tall structures
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork in a collaborative studio environment
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Must be able to commute to NYC office five days per week
  • Precise and personable verbal and written communication skills
