About the role

Shive-Hattery is a privately held architecture and engineering consulting firm with design offices across the United States. As an architect in the Food + Pharmaceutical Market, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on local, regional, and national projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and project management with design discussions, idea generation, collaboration, and design work in drawing, modeling and 3D image formats.
  • Direct non-licensed and other professionals assigned to design, produce, and coordinate the design process, laboratory and manufacturing planning, and technical documents.
  • Attend project and client meetings with design professionals for both business development opportunities and projects under contract.
  • Develop technical design solutions.
  • Develop and identify training opportunities to improve and increase the company's capacity to work in this practice area.
  • Assist with growth strategy and client capture efforts to increase Shive-Hattery’s market share within the pharmaceutical and science + technology practices.
  • Assist in design presentation development.
  • Assist with personnel needs identification including internal networking to identify others within Shive-Hattery who can be drawn upon to support project work as opportunities increase.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited professional degree program with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture or have equivalent education and experience. Licensed architect is a requirement.
  • Proven experience in relationship building, business development, winning work, expanding work with existing clients, and leading project teams through every phase of the design process.
  • Excellent communication skills which set you apart in the profession.
  • Continuous demonstration of a high degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process.
  • Knowledge of programming, planning, and building materials systems and performance.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code and current ADA requirements, FDA GMP requirements for pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing facilities.
  • Led project stakeholder engagement sessions with owners, and users.
  • Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently, adding great value to your role, while understanding, and supporting the importance of collaboration across project teams and disciplines.

Qualifications

Compensation Range: $104,000-$147,000 per year

Pay

$104,000 - $147,000 per year

Schedule

The role involves sitting, standing, and working at a computer for extended periods. May also require lifting light to medium weight objects of up to 50 lbs., the wearing of PPE and navigating active construction sites.
