About the role

Metropolitan Companies is seeking a full-time Architect Level II to join our growing team! This position presents an excellent opportunity for professional growth and career longevity. The ideal candidate is someone with 5 or more years of professional experience and certification as a licensed professional required. This position will report to the Residential Architect Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design efforts from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and project requirements.
  • Develop and oversee detailed construction documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Conduct site visits, evaluate project progress, and provide technical guidance during construction phases.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Coordinate and integrate multi-disciplinary team efforts, including structural, MEP, and other consultants.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building regulations.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining quality standards.
  • Mentor and provide technical support to junior architects and design team members.
  • Participate in client presentations, business development efforts, and proposal preparation as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
  • Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of professional experience in architectural design and project management.
  • Experience with multi-family residential and commercial projects.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proficiency in BIM design software, including ArchiCAD, Twinmotion and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and materials.
  • Knowledge of zoning codes, building codes, and permitting processes.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to foster collaboration within a diverse team environment.
  • Thorough understanding of our project delivery process.
  • Passion for precision and accuracy in all aspects of work product.
  • Advanced understanding of intelligent modeling and managing files in a digital environment.
