About the role
The Archery Technician performs various selling and customer service activities, including greeting customers, handling merchandise, providing product information and assistance, assembling products, and offering direction and instruction to customers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver world-class customer service to ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and tune all archery equipment to ensure safety and proper functionality.
- Install accessory items on bows and demonstrate products to customers.
- Answer technical questions to help customers understand product operation and completed work.
- Pursue ongoing technical training to improve proficiency and product knowledge.
- Maintain pricing and UPC integrity, ensure accurate inventory, and manage proper product display, signing, and pricing, including advertised items.
- Assist customers in making buying decisions by identifying needs, providing recommendations, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Replenish product on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
- Keep the work area organized, clean, and well-stocked with supplies.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience with bow setup.
Skills
- Perform bow setup, including draw length, identifying eye dominance, and determining draw weight.
- Assemble bows and install accessories such as kisser buttons, peep sights, D loops, knock locations, and scopes.
- Knowledge of arrow setup, including arrow length, spine, and insert installation.
- Operate equipment and tools, including a bow press and chop saw.
- Instruct customers on safety, accessories, bow features, and brand awareness.
Physical Requirements
- Constantly stand and/or walk during shift.
- Constantly communicate with others to exchange information.
- Constantly repeat motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Constantly lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
- Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Occasionally work in noisy environments.
- Light work involving constant movement or lifting of objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally move and lift objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
