About the Role
Our Climbers / Bucket Operators are experienced arbor care specialists who work closely with our landscape crews. They perform all facets of tree trimming and removals, including climbing and bucket work, and operate wood chippers, pole saws, stump grinders. Responsibilities include general tree trimming, crown raising, shaping, reduction, clearance pruning, and similar tasks. This position reports to a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Drive company vehicles as directed
- Operate various types of equipment and machinery associated with arbor care and tree trimming
- Perform tree trimming, crown raising, shaping, reduction, and clearance pruning
- Maintain professional representation of East Coast Facilities, Inc. at all times
- Communicate client concerns to the Crew Leader and maintain a positive, responsive attitude
- Promote and maintain safe working conditions, following company safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional image through approved uniforms and proper conduct
- Ensure accountability for assigned equipment, avoiding neglect or abuse
- Perform other assigned tasks related to landscape management
Requirements
- Journeyman-level experience in arbor care and tree trimming services
- Valid Broward County Tree Trimmer license
- Minimum two-year apprenticeship in arbor care or related sub-categories
- Ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check
- Compliance with business ethics, applicable laws, and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work near or about direct automotive traffic and natural bodies of water
- Operate various types of work lifts
- Ability to work overtime or extended shifts as required
- Work in extreme conditions, with temperatures ranging from 0 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in direct sunlight, extreme cold, or wintry precipitation for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
Qualifications Impacting Pay
Your rate of pay will be determined based on the following factors:
- Years of proven experience in the role
- Qualification to drive company vehicles (meeting underwriting procedures)
- Knowledge and ability to operate equipment classes
- Special licensing (e.g., CDL, Pesticide Applicators License, Tree Trimming License, ISA Arborist Certification, Lift Certification)
- References from direct supervisors
- Competitive rate matching for recruited team members from competitors
