Arborist

Lynchburg, VA – Regular Full-Time

About the role

At Bartlett, we value a strong culture of excellence in safety, scientific research, lifelong learning, and career development. As an Arborist, you will perform ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments, as directed by the Arborist Crew Leader.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform all aspects of arboriculture, including:
  • Tree identification
  • Tree risk assessments
  • Pruning
  • Removals
  • Cabling and bracing
  • Root collar excavations
• Properly maintain and operate tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
• Perform tree and shrub care treatments using spray, tree injection, and soil injection tools as prescribed by the Arborist Representative
• Learn, understand, and adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies

Requirements

• At least one (1) year of experience in the tree care industry is preferred
• Valid driver’s license (Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• Valid state pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain following hire date (Bartlett will pay for the cost of the exam and help you prepare)
