About the Opportunity:The AR MEDICAL INSURANCE SPECIALIST role is responsible for managing payer and patient account balances to ensure timely and current payments. This position involves performing collection activities, resolving billing issues, and responding to account inquiries. The specialist contributes to maintaining financial accuracy and compliance within established guidelines, supporting the organization's mission to provide high-quality cancer care. Responsibilities:Monitor delinquent accounts and perform collection dutiesReview reports, research, and resolve billing issuesVerify payment postings and ensure account balances are currentCollaborate with colleagues to address insurance payment and billing errorsUpdate statuses of delinquent accountsRecommend accounts for collection or write-offRespond to patient questions about payments, billing, and insuranceContact patients to secure past due balances and update demographic and insurance informationRefer patients to appropriate representatives for payment plan setupMaintain patient and payor credit balances and ensure timely refunds in compliance with regulationsAdhere to confidentiality and legal guidelines including HIPAAPerform additional duties as assigned Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of two years combined medical billing and payment experienceKnowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processingUnderstanding of state and federal collections guidelinesCompletion of required e-learning courses within 90 days of employment Pay Range and Compensation Package:Wage range: $20 to $25 per hour Benefits & Perks:Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k) plan Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
