About the role

Headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., Samsung Electronics America, Inc. (SEA) is the U.S. Sales and Marketing subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. This role ensures compliance with company guidelines to minimize accounts receivable (AR) risk and maximize sales opportunities. You will manage a team responsible for collecting all AR in an assigned portfolio, identify areas of risk, and propose potential solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the AR portfolio and related processes within Samsung policies and customer requirements.
  • Conduct consistent reviews with team members of all accounts within the established portfolio to ensure accurate data and timely follow-up/escalation.
  • Collaborate with customers on collection issues, resolve problem accounts, and make recommendations regarding collection or legal status.
  • Manage designated staff, including training, key performance indicators, workload balancing, and performance reviews.
  • Motivate and mentor staff to maintain high standards of coverage and cross-training within the team.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure AR is current and issues are addressed, escalated, and resolved.
  • Identify and escalate matters to upper management in a clear and concise manner.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies through collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Develop and provide various analyses and reporting using SAP, Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, and other tools as needed.
  • Keep department leadership informed of issues and potential risks.
  • Lead invoice discrepancy resolution with customers, logistics, service, and other partners.
  • Develop working relationships with internal and external teams to resolve customer issues and ensure accurate, current AR.
  • Maintain global policy and procedures, and provide necessary backup for internal and external process audits.
  • Assign and manage ad-hoc special projects for team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Information Systems.
  • 6-8 years of related experience.
  • Prior team leadership experience.
  • Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system preferred.

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Diplomacy and ability to handle difficult situations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), including V-lookup, pivot tables, and macros.
  • AI tool implementation and usage skills preferred.
  • Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency.
  • Relationship management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
