Aquatics Program Manager

About the role

The Aquatics Program Manager at McCormick YMCA is responsible for coordinating and supervising aquatic programs, including planning, promoting, creating, and coordinating programs. Responsibilities also include maintaining records, scheduling staff, and ensuring proper pool maintenance. Networking with public agencies and community organizations is a key part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Plan, promote, and coordinate aquatic programs
• Maintain records and schedules for staff and programs
• Ensure proper pool maintenance and safety protocols
• Network with public agencies and community organizations
• Recruit, train, and supervise YMCA team members
• Lead team meetings and trainings
• Collaborate with other departments to meet program needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field and/or equivalent experience
• Two years or more of recreation/aquatics-related experience
• Prior team leadership/supervisory experience
• Strong customer service orientation
• Safe and age-appropriate strategies in interactions with youth
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Flexible schedule (8 hours a day, 5 days a week, one weekend day required)
• Current, relevant Aquatics training and certifications
• Physical stamina, agility, and sudden exertion required for job duties
