About the role
The Aquatics Instructor is responsible for providing private and group swim instruction to clients under the direction of the Aquatics Director. They also maintain a safe and effective learning environment, focusing on client swimming goals, and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and specific corrective feedback during each session
- Design and deliver effective and rewarding swim sessions and workouts
- Provide swim evaluations to help parents decide on the best program for their child
- Maintain accurate and current records on client progress
- Enforce all pool rules and aquatics center policies
- Maintain a consistent work schedule and arrive punctually for sessions
- Communicate with parents and members, and assist with special club projects and events
- Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center
- Represent the club in a professional manner
Requirements
- Current Lifeguard certification
- WSI certification or equivalent
- Experience teaching swim lessons for all ages
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services
- Problem anticipation/deductive reasoning
- Oral comprehension and expression
- Computer skills to develop and maintain records in Word, Excel and other software required by TBCC
Qualifications
- Minimum of 60 lessons per month (average of 6 months) for Master Swim Instructor
- Minimum of 80 lessons per month (average of 6 months) for Elite Swim Instructor
- Minimum of 100 lessons per month (average of 6 months) for Ultimate Swim Instructor

Pay
$19.61 - $28.00 / hour
Schedule
Available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed. Shifts are not guaranteed and can change at any time. Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment.
