About the role
The Aquatic Supervisor leads the YMCA aquatic department, ensuring safety, quality, and member service while supervising staff and maintaining program standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in delivering quality aquatic programs that meet YMCA standards and member needs.
- Monitor aquatic programs and staff for safety, quality, and member service.
- Develop relationships with members and gather regular feedback on programs.
- Supervise and ensure appropriate staffing of the pool and programs.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness in the pool area, locker rooms, and adjoining locations.
- Complete weekly maintenance checklists and regular pool logs.
- Ensure pool staffing meets YMCA standards before leaving the area or performing maintenance.
- Conduct daily lifeguard and safety audits.
- Perform pool maintenance duties, including deck cleaning, equipment storage, and water quality testing.
- Perform regular surveys of the pool and filter room in accordance with OSHA Hazardous Materials Precautions.
- Serve as a member of the branch management team and Leader on Duty for the facility.
- Communicate and enforce all pool rules while being accessible and identifiable to members.
Requirements
- Age 18 or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a related field.
- Current ARC Lifeguard/Water Park, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen certifications.
- Passion for water safety and strong swim skills.
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to member service excellence.
