About the role
The starting salary for this position is $75,856.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements EMS strategies to meet the City's needs.
- Tracks and provides continuing education opportunities.
- Recognizes excellence and addresses inquiries and requests.
- Prepares and manages budgets.
- Develops plans and projects.
- Evaluates projects.
- Manages contracts and legal compliance.
- Works with the grant administrator to administer grants.
- Makes recommendations to the Deputy Fire Chiefs.
- Works with the shift Battalion Chiefs to provide timely EMS continuing education.
- Supervises EMS staff.
Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Fire Service, Paramedicine, or Emergency Medical Technology or a related field.
- A valid driver's license.
- CPR Instructor certification.
- Paramedic Certification.
Qualifications
- A two-year associate's degree or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school.
- Current certification/licensure as a Certified Emergency Paramedic (CEP), registered nurse (RN), or physician's assistant (PA).
- Current EMS instructor certification.
Skills
- Knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature.
- Program/project management experience in the fire, rescue, EMS, public health, or emergency medical field.
