Aquatic Education Program Assistant (Hourly)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Aquatic Education Section with fishing clinics, rodeos, Trout in the Classroom, SCDNR Youth Bass Tournament, Fishing Tackle Loaner Program, and Black Bass Slam.
  • Manage and maintain equipment.
  • Collect and manage data (computer-based), including preparation of data for analysis.
  • Develop and organize educational materials and assist in coordination between Fisheries and Graphics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Relevant program experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic working knowledge of South Carolina freshwater fisheries, fish identification, sampling, and protocols.
  • Ability to work under potentially adverse weather conditions.
  • Competency in computer word processing and data management programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to work varying hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to swim and feel comfortable in and around water in all weather conditions.
