APS-3: Material Coordinator - Purchasing
About the role
The Material Coordinator is a member of the Local Purchase team supporting mechanics and maintenance teams. Key responsibilities include reviewing parts requests, preparing Requests for Quote, organizing paperwork, updating spreadsheets, coordinating with vendors, and performing other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes for repair parts and services
- Process purchase requests for approval
- Support maintenance teams by providing repair parts and supplies for commercial and military equipment
- Organize paperwork as directed
- Update spreadsheet / database / folders with information & statuses daily
- Request vendor information online, by email, and over the phone
- Request approvals as directed before proceeding with Requests / Orders
- Order parts by various methods and track parts and request status updates
- Cover scheduling or documentation requirements with vendors
- Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, and processing returns as required
- Follow up regarding CostPoint (KBR’s system) requisitions and receiving
- Prepare purchase card reconciliations
- Drive pickup truck to pick up parts off site as needed
- Learn and comply with all regulations / guidelines / policies / requirements at APS-3
- Complete all required training (Annual training, GCSS, KBR, Pcard, CostPoint, etc)
- Finalize documentation and complete digital folder as required
- Perform other duties as assigned, including being loaned out to other departments as needed
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Pass background check to obtain and maintain local base access
- Common Access Card (CAC)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with purchasing and logistics; some familiarity with accounting preferred
- Familiarity with MS Office and proficiency with computer usage
- Working knowledge of CostPoint or similar Enterprise Resource Planning software
- Working knowledge of Army class of supply system and National Stock numbers
- Valid Real ID State Driver’s License
Qualifications
- Very detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize
- Familiarity with G-Army, Deltek, CostPoint, etc
- Physical ability to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day
- Physical ability to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day
- Physical ability to lift - up to 30 lbs
- Physical ability to squat, kneel, bend, reach and climb periodically
- Ability to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments
