Aprio invites high-performing accounting students interested in Audit or Tax to apply for the 2028 Spring (January–April) or Summer (June–August) Internship Programs. This internship is designed for students eager to contribute, take initiative, and gain meaningful exposure to public accounting. We seek candidates who demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, leadership potential, and a commitment to professional excellence.
About the Role
Interns at Aprio dive directly into hands-on client work, collaborating with experienced professionals while developing the technical and professional skills necessary for a successful career in public accounting. The program is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days in the office to maximize mentorship, collaboration, and real-time learning.
Schedule
- Spring internships: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, standard business hours (no classes permitted during the internship period).
- Summer internships: 32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, standard business hours.

Responsibilities
Tax Intern
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns.
- Supporting clients in tax research and planning strategies.
- Analyzing financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance considerations.
- Collaborating with team members to deliver innovative and practical tax solutions.
- Interacting with professionals across the firm to support client service initiatives.
Aprio’s Tax team works with a variety of clients, providing interns exposure to complex tax matters while developing meaningful relationships with colleagues and clients. Ideal for students who enjoy analytical problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaborative work environments.
Audit Intern
- Assisting with assurance engagements.
- Supporting teams in evaluating internal controls and financial reporting processes.
- Analyzing financial data and documentation to identify potential risks or areas for improvement.
- Participating in testing procedures and audit documentation.
- Collaborating with team members to help clients maintain compliance with evolving accounting standards.
- Potential travel to client sites.
Aprio’s Audit teams work with a variety of organizations, offering interns exposure to complex business environments and financial reporting challenges. Ideal for students who enjoy investigating financial information, solving problems, and working collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Accounting major pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Minimum 3.3 GPA.
- On track to meet CPA eligibility requirements with a clear plan to pursue CPA licensure.
- Interest in pursuing a full-time career in public accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to apply Excel skills in data analysis and reporting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with clients and team members.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future (no visa sponsorship available for this position).
