Apps/Test Engineer
IRCameras is a full-service provider of high-performance, customizable infrared imaging systems and Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCAs). We offer standard and custom Short Wave Infrared (SWIR), Mid Wave Infrared (MWIR), and Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) cameras, as well as an extensive line of custom-packaged IDCAs for scientific, industrial, space, and defense applications.
About the role
This role requires a balance between broad engineering tasks and customer engagement, all focused on growing the sales of the IRCameras product portfolio. The Apps/System Engineer serves as the initial contact point for new sales prospects, the reliable technical resource for existing customers, and the key intermediary between engineering, product management, and customers.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries for “standard” cameras, defining configurations that meet the customer’s requirements.
- Compile “standard” pricing for defined camera configurations.
- Support customer engagement on “custom” opportunities, working with the customer, product management, and the engineering team to capture requirements and create proposals.
- Serve as technical lead for IRC in product test, including hardware, software, and firmware.
- Lead documentation of internal camera and software test procedures; provide first-line support when product or system issues arise.
- Perform troubleshooting and functional analysis when customers report issues; work with the engineering team to document and resolve product issues discovered through in-house testing.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to create and maintain robust product documentation, including Camera Product Datasheets, Optical/Mechanical ICDs, Command Set ICDs, CAD models, and Manuals/User Guides.
- Act as the voice of the customer, channeling feedback to product management and engineering teams for future developments.
