Apps Solution Architect

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional with 13 years of development and application modernization expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hosting and configuring applications on IIS and Apache Tomcat, along with extensive experience in modernizing and upgrading applications to the Azure PaaS platform, including migration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of more than 5 members.
• Modernize and upgrade applications to Azure PaaS, including migration experience.
• Optimize application hosting configurations in various Azure PaaS services such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Container Instances.
• Analyze application architecture dependencies and integrations.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Data Platform, DevOps, IaC, and Integration Teams to ensure cloud adoption follows standard best practices.
• Containerize web applications, frontends, and web services.
• Assess application performance pre- and post-migration.
• Design Azure App Landing Zone and provide Azure target state solution architecture.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with Azure strategy, stakeholder management, business applications, infrastructure, and commercial aspects (value for money).
• Understand customer infrastructure landscape and security requirements.
• Troubleshoot Azure PaaS platform issues.
• Utilize monitoring capabilities like Log Analytics and App Insights for PaaS services.
• Integrate Agentic AI into code modernization efforts.
• Work with internal and customer stakeholders, as well as Project Managers, to understand migration requirements and provide solutions.
• Prepare solution presentations and translate High-Level Designs (HLD) to Low-Level Designs (LLD).

Requirements

• Hands-on web application development skills.
• Experience in developing and hosting web applications on the Azure PaaS platform.
• Primary database skills, including database connectivity and configurations.
• Ability to analyze application dependencies.
• Strong understanding of application migration scenarios and pathways.
• Experience with containerization and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

• Primary Skills: .NET, Java, Azure PaaS (App Service, Functions, AKS, Container Apps, Container Instances), database connectivity, build and deployment.
• Secondary Skills: Angular, React, Python, basic containerization, AKS.
