Apprentice Technician

About the role

Bend Honda is now hiring an Apprentice Technician. The position offers starting pay at $20.00 per hour plus the opportunity to flag hours at a higher rate. Department hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 7:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am - 6:00pm, and Sunday from 10:00am - 6:00pm.

What You'll Do

• Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, observing Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose cause of malfunction.
• Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work.
• Record time spent on repairs using company time clocking procedures.
• Document work performed on repair orders and document test procedures/results.
• Use shop supplies and materials as designed.
• Maintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.
• Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were before servicing them.
• Acquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required training.
• Participate in and use technical training as assigned by management.
• Review the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by management.
• Constructively communicate with other dealership personnel to satisfy customer needs.
• Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.
• Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies.
• Arrive at work, take breaks, and depart work at the times designated by management.

What You'll Bring

• 1+ year automotive or lube technician experience.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.
