Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Technician - 1083
About the role
We are looking for people who aspire to become licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technicians — people with strong mechanical aptitude and a self-starter attitude who can adapt to our standards of conduct while working as part of a team in a safety-oriented environment. Responsibilities
- Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems.
- Remove and install panels and components, repair work and sheet metal repair or installation.
- Troubleshoot assistance of systems on the aircraft when designated.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
- Aircraft movement, assistance in performance runs and taxiing when required.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
- Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in military aviation or with general mechanical background is preferred.
- Technicians with no A&P license Limited to no prior experience in aviation.
- Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance.
- May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
- Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
- Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
- Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
- Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
- Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Skills
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.

Pay
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $22 - $30. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance.
