Appraiser / Greenbelt Focus
Iron County is seeking a Licensed Appraiser for the Assessor's Office in Parowan, Utah. Licensed Appraisers with experience may receive credit toward the established pay range for up to 10 years of direct job-related experience. This position may be underfilled with an Appraiser Trainee at a lower wage and will be assigned to work with Greenbelt Properties. This is a full-time career service position.
About the role
Performs a variety of full-performance-level complex technical duties encompassing the complete valuation process from discovery to defense of value. Responsibilities include inspection, classification, appraisal, and valuation of countywide real property for Ad Valorem purposes using industry-accepted methods while observing the highest standards of professional ethics. Work is performed both in the office and in the field. Field visits may involve varied building types, construction sites, outdoor terrain, and weather conditions.
This position requires the ability to climb, walk, sit, kneel, and bend in varied outdoor terrain to access properties, collect data, and perform essential duties.
Requirements
- Must hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of experience in Real Estate, Construction, Finance, or Appraisal-related fields.
- Must possess a valid Utah Driver License to operate a county vehicle for property assessments and appraisal activities throughout Iron County.
- Must complete, receive, and maintain certification through bi-annual, State-approved continuing education and other requirements.
