About the Role
The Appointment Coordinator accurately schedules appointments, enters data into a computerized appointment system, answers phones, and directs calls as needed. Schedulers will have basic scheduling competencies to follow established best practices and perform specific duties for an assigned area. Shriners Spokane is looking for a full-time Appointment Coordinator to join the team.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and rescheduling, creating ad-hoc appointments, check-in and check-out, and changing appointment status.
- Registration, updating, quick/trauma admit, discharge, and downtime conversion.
- Utilizing Power Chart for additional information when needed, including orders matrix and patient schedule tab.
- Cross-trained to ensure relief for other scheduling positions as assigned.
- Prepares and completes medical record review to include analysis, documentation, and physician order completion.
- Receives, assesses, and routes telephone calls.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 year of scheduling, registration, and insurance verification experience.
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Secretary (preferred).
Pay
The pay range for this position is $17.13–$25.38 per hour. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
