About the Opportunity

The Appointment Coordinator is responsible for managing patient appointments across multiple orthopedic offices. This position ensures accurate scheduling and data entry to support patient care operations. The role is essential to maintaining efficient communication between patients, physicians, and staff while contributing to the quality and flow of orthopedic services.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments professionally.
  • Enter and verify patient demographic and insurance information in medical systems.
  • Follow up with patients to obtain missing information.
  • Answer and screen phone calls, take messages, and provide accurate information.
  • Maintain up-to-date physician schedules and confirm appointments.
  • Support office staff and take on additional assignments as needed.
  • Maintain positive and professional interactions with patients and colleagues.
  • Assist staff in ensuring high-quality patient care.
  • Perform accurate data entry to minimize errors.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Comply with applicable state and federal laws, including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.
  • Adapt professionally to changes in processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience, preferably in a medical office.
  • Call center experience is a plus.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and staff at all levels.

Pay

Pay rate: $23.00 per hour. Compensation is influenced by skills, experience, education, certifications, location, market data, and internal equity. Base pay is part of a total rewards package that may include incentives.
