Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with patients/physicians/callers in a polite and helpful manner to book appointments, enter demographic data, insurance information and any other relevant information into the EMR system.
- Reschedule patient appointments when necessary and relays messages to staff.
- Maintain and update current information on physician’s schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed.
- Supplement office staff when requested and is receptive to additional assignments/projects as delegated by supervisor.
- Maintain a positive demeanor with patients, peers, supervisors and physicians, especially when receiving feedback or direction.
- Aid staff members when necessary in a positive and professional manner to ensure the patients receive the utmost in care.
- Perform work with accuracy to minimize error correction by other staff members.
- Double check data entry to ensure the correct information has been entered into the EMR system.
- Organize and prioritize work to make sure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Stay abreast of and comply with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- At least two years of customer service experience required.
- One year of experience in a medical setting required.
