About the role
We are recruiting for 10 new team members to join our Resale team at Community Action House. Our stores fund the programs that build a stronger community for us all.
Responsibilities
- Radically Welcoming guests, donors, and volunteers.
- Accepting, sorting, pricing, stocking, and merchandising donations.
- Contributing to a healthy, productive, and supportive work environment.
- Answering basic questions about the store and our nonprofit mission.
- Collaborating with teammates to meet daily goals.
- Maintaining a clean, neat, and organized donations area, sales floor, sales counter, and processing area.
- Depending on experience and interest, some team members may also take on:
- Operating a point of sale (POS) system, handling cash, and ensuring accuracy, including opening and reconciling registers, counting drawers and deposits, and bank deposits.
- Serving as a contact for guest escalations if needed, and resolving concerns with care.
- Supporting our People Leaders with process improvements and communications, including leading continuous improvement projects.
Requirements
- No thrift store experience is required. We will provide training and support.
- Experience working in retail and customer service is preferred, but not required.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.

- Be comfortable being on your feet and staying active.
- Have reliable transportation.

Pay
$16.25 - $19.50 an hour
Schedule
Part-Time, hourly compensation
Store Hours: Monday through Saturday - store hours 10am to 6pm with extended to 8pm Friday, April to December
Schedules: determined 3 weeks in advance, rotating Saturdays and holidays with some holidays closed & paid time
