Applied Scientist, Amazon Connect

About the role

Join the team that is building AI/ML features for Amazon Connect, a disruptive cloud-based contact center that enables businesses to deliver engaging, dynamic, and personal customer service experiences. We are a team of scientists and AI/ML engineers working on multiple AI/ML projects, using state-of-the-art science and engineering practices to solve hard problems in contact center operations, management, and optimization. As an Applied Scientist (Machine Learning), you will work on stochastic modeling, queueing theory, anomaly detection, and optimization to transform how customers interact with businesses and how agents service them.

Responsibilities

• Build models for business applications in the contact center domain.
• Apply expertise in stochastic modeling, queueing theory, anomaly detection, and optimization.
• Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to develop state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions.
• Publish research in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals and contribute to patents.

Requirements

• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience building models for business applications.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development.
• Publications or patents in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.

Pay

Base salary range: $172,400 - $223,400 USD annually for this position in New York, NY. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
