About the role

Join the team that is building AI/ML features for Amazon Connect, a cloud-based contact center service that transforms how businesses deliver customer service. We are a group of scientists and AI/ML engineers tackling hard problems in contact center operations, management, and optimization using state-of-the-art science and engineering practices. As an Applied Scientist (Machine Learning), you will work on stochastic modeling, queueing theory, anomaly detection, and optimization to create disruptive AI-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply machine learning models to solve complex problems in contact center operations.
  • Work on stochastic modeling, queueing theory, anomaly detection, and optimization projects.
  • Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to build and deploy AI/ML features.
  • Address ambiguity and drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience building models for business applications.
  • Experience with patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in professional software development.

Pay

Base salary range: $172,400 - $223,400 USD annually for this position in New York, NY. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
