The company operates remotely across multiple states, aiming to simplify transactions and timing for clients despite market fluctuations.

About the Opportunity

The Applied AI Engineer role focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into products and workflows to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. This position bridges AI tooling development and tackling complex AI challenges to deliver impactful AI-powered features. The engineer collaborates with both internal teams and external partners, contributing to the organization’s technological advancement and product innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI-driven features such as LLM API integrations and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.
• Build shared AI tooling and components to facilitate AI adoption across teams.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and management tools for AI features.
• Address complex business problems using large language models and machine learning.
• Prototype solutions and collaborate to produce production-ready, maintainable code.
• Establish best practices and patterns for AI development within the organization.
• Evaluate and recommend new AI models and tools.
• Utilize AI coding assistants as part of the development workflow.
• Write automated tests and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure usability and documentation.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of back-end development experience in dynamic environments.
• Experience building or operating AI/ML systems in production.
• Proficiency with LLM APIs, including prompt design and context management.
• Strong skills in Python and frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Knowledge of web development best practices including REST APIs and asynchronous tasks.
• Ability to balance reliability, latency, cost, and quality in solutions.
• Strong ownership and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Adaptability and eagerness to learn in a fast-changing AI landscape.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools.

Pay

• $160k base salary.
