Applied AI Engineer

About the role

We're looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join our AI Studio team. This role involves shaping the future of AI character experiences, ensuring they remain consistent, safe, and true to their lore.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and refine system prompts and character behavior definitions.
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure character fidelity and response quality.
• Develop RAG systems to ground character responses in canonical knowledge.
• Partner with creative and brand teams to translate character attributes into AI behavior.
• Lead prompt versioning, regression testing, and model evaluation practices.
• Integrate with multiple LLM APIs and make informed decisions about provider updates.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging techniques in prompt engineering and LLM evaluation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production LLM-powered systems.
• Deep expertise in prompt engineering, including few-shot techniques and structured output.
• Experience designing and implementing evaluation frameworks for LLM outputs.
• Hands-on experience with RAG architectures, including embedding models and vector retrieval.
• Proficiency with major LLM APIs and experience making principled decisions between them.
• Strong Python skills and comfort working in AWS environments.
• Familiarity with voice AI services and how they shape prompt and response design.
• The ability to communicate AI system behavior clearly to creative and technical collaborators.

Qualifications

• Conceptual understanding of fine-tuning and RLHF.
• Familiarity with guardrails frameworks.
• Background in entertainment, gaming, or IP-driven product development.

Skills

• Python programming skills.
• Experience with AWS environments.
• Understanding of voice AI services.
• Ability to communicate complex AI concepts clearly.

Pay

The pay transparency range for this role is $109,200 USD - $163,800 USD. Employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
