About the role
The Applications Engineer - Power Systems Rental Projects is responsible for engaging and collaborating with the rental sales teams and customers on complex power systems rental projects throughout the dealer territory. This role also involves engaging the CAT Rental Power dealer network for the re-rental of Carter rental fleet assets that are identified as underperforming by the rental sales manager. The individual in this position will travel as needed with power systems rental sales representatives to assist in customer development and the closing of rental sales opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Engage and collaborate with rental sales teams and customers on complex power systems rental projects
- Engage the CAT Rental Power dealer network for the re-rental of Carter rental fleet assets
- Travel with power systems rental sales representatives to assist in customer development and the closing of rental sales opportunities
Requirements
- Self-starter able to work with limited supervision
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Possess ability to maintain comprehensive project files and generate reports
- Able to adapt to changing technology and maintain a high level of product/industry knowledge
- Strong written, verbal and presenting skills with ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel within the organization and customers
- Multitask and prioritize work with competing demands
- Adequate driving record
- Able to travel frequently throughout and beyond the territory
- Able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications
- Minimum three years' sales and projects experience, preferably in power generation and temperature control
- College degree in related field

Pay
Starting Compensation Range: $89,000 - $115,000 per year

Frequent travel is required – overnight or out of town via car or airplane
