Responsibilities
- CNC Programming: Create complex tool paths using MasterCam for mill and lathe machine operations.
- Process Optimization: Develop and refine machining strategies to reduce cycle times, minimize tooling costs, and improve part quality.
- Tooling Selection: Determine the most effective and cost-efficient cutting tools, fixtures and materials for specific jobs.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with machine setups, broken tools or programming errors on the production floor.
- Documentation: Create setup sheets, tool lists and standard operating procedures to train machinists.
- Introduce and support new measuring technologies to Quality Control.
- Learn related application software and use of all measurement instruments.
- Familiarize and follow established ISO procedures for machining.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent on the job experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on CNC programming and machining experience (manufacturing and extrusion related is highly preferred).
- CAD proficiency (SolidWorks preferred) and G & M code.
- Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent computer proficiency.
- Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Highly organized, driven, self-directed and professional.
