Job Description

Serves as a team leader/senior technical team member in the planning, designing, developing, implementing, and/or supporting complex to moderately complex new or revised processes, systems, or networks. Acts as an acknowledged expert in one or more technical specialties and/or mission critical application systems, and provides leadership in design, development and application integration. Ensures functional and technical designs support customer requirements. Develops an understanding of the Auto Club Group business strategy and competitive environment and translate and implements business strategies into technology solutions. Provides a high degree of technical and/or application expertise and design/programming leadership. Assists Security team in the development of appropriate audit controls and procedures to ensure the integrity and protection of company resources. Develops work plans and estimates projects and ensures that project team(s) and/or plan deliverables remain on schedule and budget. Required Qualifications

• Education (include Minimum Education And Any Licensing/certifications): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent level of work experience.
• Experience: designing, developing, implementing, or supporting complex to moderately complex information systems
  building or supporting mainframe or distributed systems
  identifying, analyzing and resolving complex business/technical problems
  technology assessment, recommendations and selection
  providing technical consultation/leadership to project teams
  staffing, coordinating/leading a large project team or a variety of small project teams
  budgeting and expense control
  mainframe, distributed, and/or Web-based system design and development
  database management systems

  project management tools and techniques
  multi-platform capabilities
  user interaction
  HTML and web development tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Angular front-end development, Java Spring Boot backend services, Python FastAPI, and modern API development.
• Experience building scalable enterprise applications, cloud-native solutions, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed.
• Ability and experience to:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using Angular, Spring Boot, and Python FastAPI.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using Angular and TypeScript.
• Design scalable, secure, and reusable API frameworks and integration patterns.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application performance and production issues.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve coding efficiency, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Promote engineering best practices.
• Build modern Angular front-end applications.
• Develop Java Spring Boot and Python FastAPI backend services.
• Design and implement scalable APIs and microservices.
• Work within cloud-native and DevOps environments.
• Contribute to future AI-enabled application initiatives while maintaining strong software engineering fundamentals.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of Angular development experience.
• 3+ years of Java, Spring Boot, and Python development experience with FastAPI.
• Strong experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong SQL and database development skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Front-End Development Technical Skills: Angular (v12+ preferred), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Web Design.
• Backend Development Technical Skills: Java Spring Boot, Python FastAPI, REST API Development, OpenAPI / Swagger, Microservices Architecture.
• Database Technologies Technical Skills: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Data Modeling and Performance Tuning.
• DevOps & Cloud Skills: Bitbucket, Jenkins, CI/CD Pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (Preferred).
• AWS, Azure, or GCP Integration & Messaging Skills: REST APIs, GraphQL (Preferred), Kafka, RabbitMQ, Event-Driven Architecture.
• Experience in an insurance environment or other service industry.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as: GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise/OpenAI APIs, Google Gemini Code Assist.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for: Code generation and refactoring, unit test creation, API documentation generation, code review assistance, troubleshooting and debugging, productivity and developer acceleration.
• Basic understanding of: Generative AI concepts, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI integration through APIs.

• This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership.
