About the role
The Switchboard / RMU Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the technical authority for low- and medium-voltage switchboards, switchgear lineups, and Ring Main Unit (RMU) systems integrated into Integra Mission Critical’s modular power platforms.
Responsibilities
As the enterprise-level technical expert, you will:
- Serve as technical expert for low-voltage switchboards and switchgear, medium-voltage switchgear and distribution, Ring Main Units (RMUs), bus systems, and distribution assemblies
- Develop and maintain electrical distribution design standards and specifications
- Define standard breaker configurations, bus ratings, fault duty requirements, and redundancy strategies
- Establish arc-flash mitigation and protection coordination standards
- Ensure alignment with NEC, UL 891, UL 1558, IEEE, and applicable medium-voltage standards
- Partner with Product Engineering to standardize switchboard and RMU platforms for modular deployment
- Define scalable configurations that support rapid manufacturing and repeatable installation
- Review and approve equipment layouts, bus bracing, compartmentalization, and accessibility considerations
- Support value engineering initiatives while maintaining system reliability and compliance
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- 10+ years of experience in switchgear, switchboard, or medium-voltage distribution system design
- Strong background in protection coordination and power system analysis
- Experience supporting energization and commissioning in mission-critical or industrial environments
- Deep knowledge of NEC and relevant UL/IEEE standards
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience in data centers, utility interconnection, healthcare, or industrial facilities
- Experience with modular or prefabricated power infrastructure
- Familiarity with digital relays and power monitoring systems
