About the role
Our CNC Manufacturing Client in Lake County, IL is seeking an Application Engineer to join their trusted, hard-working, and growing team.
Pay
$33–40+/hr, based on experience. Opportunity for overtime.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Potential for travel outside work hours and up to 50% travel within the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Responsibilities
- Conduct field service at customer facilities, ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of CNC tool & cutter grinding machines, specifically working on Straustak machines with an understanding of Numroto software
- Provide comprehensive support to customers onsite, by phone, and via email, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting issues promptly and effectively
- Travel up to 50% within the USA, Canada, and Mexico to support customer needs
Requirements
- Technical field service experience with CNC grinding machinery, encompassing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs
- Proficiency in troubleshooting machine problems both on-site and remotely, including answering customer inquiries regarding maintenance, mechanical/electrical drawings, and part identification
- Experience with the installation of CNC grinding machines at customer facilities
- “Hands-on” individual with a strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to interpret and comprehend electrical, mechanical, and other technical drawings
- Basic knowledge of electrical and fluid power circuits is preferred
