Application Engineer - Professional Audio Systems
Location: Las Vegas, NV (Hybrid/Onsite with Travel)
About the role
A leading innovator in professional audio technology is seeking an Application Engineer to support the deployment, commissioning, optimization, and ongoing support of world-class audio installations across major entertainment, live event, and immersive venue environments. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on experience in professional audio systems, system tuning, acoustics, AV integration, or venue technology who enjoys working directly with customers and field teams to deliver exceptional audio experiences.
Responsibilities
- Support system design and acoustic modeling for large-scale audio installations
- Translate venue and client requirements into practical technical solutions
- Prepare technical deliverables including simulations, measurement reports, system documentation, and recommendations
- Commission, test, tune, and troubleshoot professional loudspeaker systems in live venues
- Collaborate with venue operators, consultants, integrators, and production teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide post-installation support, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Deliver technical training, demonstrations, and partner enablement activities
- Capture project learnings and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in professional audio, acoustics, AV integration, system engineering, live production, or event technology
- Experience designing, commissioning, or supporting loudspeaker systems in venues such as theaters, arenas, stadiums, houses of worship, immersive environments, or entertainment venues
- Knowledge of acoustic modeling and simulation tools such as EASE, CATT, or similar
- Experience with measurement and tuning platforms such as SMAART, EASERA, or equivalent
- Understanding of audio networking, signal flow, system optimization, and troubleshooting
- Strong customer-facing communication skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced project environments
- Degree in Audio Engineering, Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience preferred
Nice to Have
- Experience with CAD or 3D design tools including SketchUp, Revit, or AutoCAD
- Experience working on high-profile entertainment, venue, or immersive audio projects
- Familiarity with beamforming, spatial audio, or advanced loudspeaker technologies
Travel
Approximately 25-50% domestic travel, with occasional international travel.
