About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for the equipment portion of various projects including validating the equipment selection, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes of the equipment portion of projects as required, and will be accountable for the strategy and performance achievement of the specific budget objectives.
Responsibilities
- Optimize and validate equipment selection including size, configuration, voltage, and options by reviewing plans, specifications, original estimates, and proposals.
- Evaluate possible cost savings and/or cost problems on various projects.
- Validate project scope by reviewing transition documents, plans, and specifications; list possible cost savings and problems; plan EQ/VPP dollar breaks; and validate quantities and configurations.
- Support sales and develop preliminary or final submittals as required; hold job cost consensus meetings, release submittals, and make necessary changes.
- Maintain competitive advantage and stay abreast of industry trends; optimize expenses by negotiating prices with vendors for materials.
- Prepare correct equipment for order entry, verify equipment pricing, revise coordination worksheets, and reconcile job costs.
- Provide technical support after an order is closed, including equipment installation, start-up, warranty service, and controls equipment to ensure execution and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or related areas with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; or a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles.
- Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with leadership principles are prioritized.
- Familiarity with HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours as required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving) or multiple smaller infractions/preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Schedule
Monday to Thursday: work onsite with colleagues. Fridays: choose your work location, balancing work requirements.
Pay
Annual Base Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $109,340.00. This is a salaried position with incentive eligibility. Compensation is tailored to factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
