Application Engineer - Product Management
About the role
We are seeking an Application Engineer to join our Syracuse, NY team. You will assist field sales with rapid and accurate responses involving pre-sale support/activity, work with engineering on development efforts, and guide sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans, prioritizes, and manages solutions to all inquiries involving presale support and applications of light commercial unitary equipment.
- Collaboratively coordinate with new development teams to support release of new and upgrade product offerings.
- Prepares and delivers product training and strategy to sales personnel.
- Performs competitive analysis for products of responsibility; communicates product competitive strategies appropriately to the field
- Updates literature and software
- Support pre-sale customer visits to the Carrier factories including meeting with customers and making presentations
- Become an active member in ASHRAE and/or AHRI
- Interprets specifications and discusses with sales personnel, vendors and Carrier engineering staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or technical discipline
- 2 + years of experience working in a technical field
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC industry experience
- Experience with commercial packaged units is also preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
- Have an ability to coordinate across multiple functions, to maintain composure in high-pressure situations, and to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Have a combination of excellent technical skills, be a self-starter, with strong business understanding, strong self-direction, and excellent interpersonal/influencing skills to work across the Carrier organization and with customers
- Have a personality defined by positivity, responsibility, integrity, accountability, and respect culminating in a strong work ethic
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
