About the role
Pumps and Controls, a wholesale water treatment equipment supplier based in Arlington, Texas, has been serving since June 1986. The company boasts over $2 million in inventory and offers a wide range of products to its customers.
Responsibilities
- Sizes & selects technical products & services, and provides engineering information to the client base.
- Prepares cost estimates and quotations by reviewing customer specifications and related documents.
- Prepares and submits required customer documentation and obtains necessary documentation from suppliers.
- Responds to phone and email correspondence from customers, manufacturers, and the outside sales team.
- Gains customer acceptance by explaining product application, including product features & benefits, assisting with special orders and specialty applications.
- Identifies current and future customer equipment requirements.
- Obtains Customer Portal proficiency.
- Collaborates internally (purchasing, sales, shipping & receiving) as project manager.
- Establishes personal rapport with customers, principals, and outside sales staff.
- Submits purchase orders with equipment manufacturers, including providing technical & commercial information.
- Expedites orders and maintains contact with customers and suppliers.
- Follows up on orders to ensure critical deliveries.
- Resolves any order problems related to delivery or paperwork issues directly with customers and suppliers.
- Completes a technical analysis of field failures and returns from customers.
- Handles all inquiries/contacts in a professional manner.
- Works in concert with the outside sales team; funnels leads/opportunities to the sales team.
- Resolves product issues or determines product needs over the phone or via email.
Requirements
Minimum: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and/or prior experience in the industry.
- Solid computer skills including proficiency with CAD, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Able to think and solve problems creatively.
- Able to identify and suggest process/specification modifications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interpret specification and mechanical drawings.
- Strong organizational abilities and project management skills.
- The ability to work cooperatively with peers to achieve organizational goals.
- A high degree of independence, self-motivation, and self-direction, especially with regard to identifying and managing high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
Desired Education and Experience:
