Responsibilities
- Utilize SolidWorks to create accurate drawings for both quotation and manufacturing purposes.
- Collaborate with the sales team to produce application drawings that support customer orders and technical proposals.
- Recommend and assist in sourcing and quoting components that are suitable for each specific application.
- Develop and maintain libraries of technical work and standard components used in the creation of technical drawings.
- Expand responsibilities over time to include the design and manufacturing of equipment in-house.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to verify the structural integrity and performance of designs.
- Review customer orders in coordination with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
- Continuously learn and develop tools, templates, and processes that improve engineering and drafting efficiency.
- Perform other engineering and application-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in application engineering and/or design engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience designing with SolidWorks.
- Experience conducting FEA (finite element analysis) to validate designs.
- At least 1 year of experience working with products involving sheet metal manufacturing processes, such as welding, laser cutting, and forming.
- At least 1 year of experience working with pumps, motors, or HVAC-related products.
- Proficiency with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, DraftSight, and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal design and fabrication methods.
- Knowledge of pump and motor design principles, including pressure and flow relationships in piping systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
