As an Application Engineer, you provide sales support—including feasibility studies—and resolve customer application questions for product lines such as microwave-assisted synthesis, digestion, FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy within the Eastern region. This position is based at the US Headquarters in Ashland, Virginia and reports to the Business Unit Sales Manager.
Responsibilities
- Conduct, evaluate, and present feasibility studies (sample measurements).
- Perform installations, training, and technical support.
- Interpret data and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in conferences and trade shows.
- Travel (up to 50%, including overnight) for trainings, demonstrations, and installation.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in analytical chemistry, Microwave Digestion, FTIR, Raman Spectroscopy, and related methods.
- Exceptional communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) for interactions with clients ranging from Quality Control Technicians to University Professors and CEOs.
- Ability to work independently with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $73,500/year to $83,200/year, depending on related experience.
